Father's Day weekend, and Baltimore is loaded. AFRAM takes over Druid Hill Park, the Aquarium drops to half price on Friday night, and Clark's Elioak Farm is doing free hayrides for dads. Here's what we picked from this week's 409+ sources as the best family events.
The Big One
AFRAM 2026 lands at Druid Hill Park on Saturday and Sunday, free to attend. One of the largest African American cultural festivals in the country, AFRAM brings live music, food, a dedicated kids' area, and vendors across the park. It's a Baltimore institution and an easy, free Father's Day weekend plan. Bring water and sunscreen; the park is big.
Friday Night
Half-Price Friday Night at the National Aquarium is the move if you want a marquee Baltimore experience without full price. Friday evening admission is half off, and the sharks, rays, and jellyfish are just as good after dark. Timed tickets sell out on summer weekends, so book online ahead. (Need more indoor backup? Our rainy day guide has the full indoor list.)
Father's Day
Father's Day Celebration at Clark's Elioak Farm (Ellicott City) runs all day Sunday, with free hayrides for fathers and grandfathers visiting with their kids. The petting farm and storybook attractions are toddler-scale and gentle, which makes it one of the easier outings for younger families.
Summer Solstice Twilight Stroll at the Maryland Zoo is a Saturday-evening option if you'd rather see the animals when it's cooler. Check the zoo's site for this year's timing and tickets.
Free & Local
Mulberry Madness at the Waverly Farmers Market is free to wander Saturday morning (7am-noon) in Baltimore City. It's a fun, low-key farmers-market morning with a seasonal mulberry theme. Pair it with one of the free things to do on our list if you want to stretch a no-cost morning into a day.
Barnes & Noble Saturday Storytime at the Bel Air location is free at 11am Saturday, an easy win for Harford County families with little ones. More options up that way on our new Harford County events page.
