About This Event

A New-Hampshire-based Halal eatery with over 600,000 views across TikTok is coming to Owings Mills. The Halal Spot will open in Owings Mills’ Brookside Commons complex at 9351 Lakeside Blvd, “a few weeks after Ramadan, shortly following Eid [on March 20],” owner Sip Woodod wrote in a Wednesday message to The Baltimore Sun. “Our goal is to bring a wide variety of high-quality halal offerings to the area in a well-established, comfortable setting designed for families and the broader community,” Woodod wrote. “We’re looking forward to serving Owings Mills and contributing to the local food scene.” The Halal Spot’s soft and grand openings, dates of which are both yet to be announced, will feature giveaways such as free meals for first responders, according to Woodod. The restaurant’s menu aims to blend “tradition” with “modernity,” it says on its website , in dishes such as fried chicken sandwiches and waffle entrees, classic gyro meat over rice or naan, and smashburgers with cheesy loaded fries. The Halal Spot’s TikTok account’s viral videos feature frappes with mix-ins such as Oreos, Snickers and white chocolate chips — one post’s caption adds that the restaurant was founded when operators “got tired of boring food in New Hampshire.” Have a news tip?
