Pete Alonso invites John Oliver to Orioles game after son takes Mets exit hard

About This Event
SARASOTA, Fla. — John Oliver might have a hard time keeping his son a loyal Mets fan. The comedian and late-night television host made a recent appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and talked about the pain associated with his fandom of rooting for New York. He said his 8-year-old son asked him multiple times last season if he could switch teams, including after his favorite player, Pete Alonso, signed with the Orioles. Though Oliver appears prepared to stick it out with New York, which underwent a roster upheaval over the winter, his son might not be able to completely let Alonso go if he gets the chance to meet him this season.
