New Annapolis restaurant dishing up award-winning Chinese food

The much-anticipated Annapolis restaurant of celebrity chef and James Beard Award winner Peter Chang has opened. The eatery, named Peter Chang Annapolis, is located at 918 Bay Ridge Road, just before the Bay Forest shopping center. The building used to house Fitzsimmons Design, whose owner, Gina Fitzsimmons, sold it to Chang for $1.78 million in November 2024. Fitzsimmons Design moved to Forest Drive. Last summer, rumors began to appear that the chef would be opening an Annapolis spot. Chang has his name on roughly a dozen restaurants across the region, including in Baltimore. This is the first in Anne Arundel County. The Annapolis location opened late last month. Chang’s most popular dishes are Peking duck and scallion bubble pancakes, though the Annapolis restaurant’s menu features all varieties of meat and vegetarian options. Chang is from Wuhan, China, and he studied cooking in Chengdu. Three decades ago, he came to the U.S. as a Chinese ambassador before he entered the restaurant industry. Have a news tip?
