Monarch Migration - Butterfly Exchange (ages 7 and up)

Participants will learn about the amazing migration of the Monarch butterfly, then decorate a life-sized butterfly to be included in a folder that will be sent to a classroom in Mexico near the forest where Monarchs hibernate. A copy of the decorated butterfly will be displayed in the Children's Department, and the following spring, Mexican students will send their decorated butterflies back to Maryland to join the display. A 'Welcome Back Monarchs' class will be offered in the spring.
