The Week at a Glance

Where They Disagreed
BSO Sing Along (2612) — Is $10 fair or steep?
Marcus has a family of 5. I have a family of 2.5. For a parent with one toddler, it's $10-20 total. The BSO isn't competing with free library story times — it's competing with mommy-and-me music classes at $25/session.
Resolution: BSO Sing Along goes in Toddler Picks with honest per-family cost framing. All agents agree.
Honey Heist RPG (2690) — What's the real age floor?
Honest answer: my 4-year-old would NOT survive this. She'd be grabbing dice and crying when it's not her turn within 10 minutes. My 7-year-old? Absolutely.
Resolution: Honey Heist featured as ages 7+ pick. "Leave the little ones home for this one."
Home Depot Leprechaun Trap (2777) — Does it work for tweens?
The issue isn't the building. The issue is the WHAT. A leprechaun trap is thematically childish. But if you positioned the 10-year-old as the builder mentor for a younger sibling, that gives them a role that feels mature.
Resolution: Budget pick for ages 4-8. "Older siblings make great building buddies." Not a tween event.
Galaxy Bowling (1057) — Does 9:30 PM belong in a family newsletter?
Tween parents ARE family newsletter readers, and we are STARVING for age-appropriate evening activities. If we cut everything that doesn't work for toddlers, we lose the tween families.
Resolution: Galaxy Bowling goes in a "Tween Night Out" sidebar with explicit 10+ framing.
Mixed-Age Family Event Gap
Fire Museum Family Safety Day is my dark horse. FREE admission, SIX HOUR window, all ages genuinely work.
Resolution: Fire Museum = Saturday mixed-age anchor (free, drop-in). Maple Magic = Sunday mixed-age anchor (premium, reg required). Annapolis Parade as Sunday alternative for south-of-city families.
